| The Festival is being held in the Main
Hall on the first floor of Wokingham's historic Town Hall in the Market
Place. THe building was opened in 1860 as a combined County Police Station,
Magistrates Court and Town Hall to replace the older Guildhall, which
had by then become severely dilapidated. The Town Hall was designed by
Poulton and Woodman of Reading in the Gothic style, and the building includes
a courtyard (now a restaurant), police cells, a Main Hall with War Memorial,
Council Chamber and offices. |
