Wachau - Other White Grape Varieties
Wachau - Other White Grape Varieties/Styles
Whilst it is the case that the vast majority of white wines produced in the Wachau are either Riesling or Grüner Veltliner, there are also wines made from other white varieties. Most of the major international varieties are grown somewhere in Austria, although not all in the Wachau, and they are sometimes known under different names. Those that are found in the Wachau include Chardonnay (sometimes referred to as Feinburgunder), fashionable in Austria in recent years, Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder), Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris (Grauer Burgunder), and Müller-Thurgau. Some of these are featured in our range. White varieties more particular to Austria that are found in the Wachau include Neuberger, and Gelber Muskateller.

A very pale yellow, this wine has a fantastic fragrant grapey muscat nose, it's juicy and sappy, grapey, with lemon-balm and with a hint of spice and herbs on the long finish. A refreshing tipple to be sure; perhaps the perfect summer wine.
